Laminated glass is a type of safety glass that holds together when shattered. In the event of breaking, it is held in place by an interlayer, typically of polyvinyl butyral, ethylene-vinyl acetate, or Thermoplastic Polyurethane, between its two or more layers of glass.

Due to the sound-damping characteristics of the PVB interlayer(s), laminated glass reduces noise transmission. If higher levels of sound insulation are required, then specialist acoustic laminate is available. Acoustic Laminate Glass is a laminated glass with special interlayers to provide a better acoustic insulation performance. 6.8mm Laminate Acoustic Glass provides a direct airborne sound reduction of 35 dB

This glass is a clear float glass that has a naturally occurring green tint due to the iron content, which is generally only perceived when the edge of the glass is viewed.
